Sentimental Loose Tea Cache – French Style – Fished Cache
If you have that favorite worn out jacket in your closet that you are holding onto for sentimental reasons, you will probably love the sentimental loose tea cache. It is a fun craft project that will let you hide away and carry that secret stash of tea.
It’s a quick and easy project that requires cloth, a needle and some thread. I also finished the wallet with a button. For this project, I used a 14″ X 14″ piece of cloth. Although this project is in the style of a French loose tea cache, a continental loose tea cache can be fashioned with a rectangular piece of cloth. The steps are simple.
STEP 1:
Take the piece of cloth and fold in half. Sew/Stitch the opposing ends, creating a tube.
STEP 2:
Fold one end of the tube over and sew a seem if the fabric easily frays. Tuck the other end of the tube under the seem.
STEP 3:
Iron the fabric. Leave the wallet as is or finish it with a closure such as the buttonhole and button as was done for this project. Take your loose tea and insert it the wallet.
