To truly enjoy this Fennel Licorice tea, you need to be a fan of fennel seeds (70%) and licorice root (30%). It has a very strong flavor. This tea can be served hot or cold.
The flavor resembles black licorice. Licorice root has a very sweet but woodsy flavor. You can see bits of the root mixed in with the seeds in the above photographs.
Most licorice root grows in Greece, Turkey, and Asia. Anise oil is often used instead of licorice root to flavor licorice candy.
